The Star of the Grand Cross to the Iron cross has been awarded only twice since its inception in 1813. to Field Marshal Gebhard von Bl├╝cher in 1813 and to Field Marshal Paul von Hindenburg in 1918. The award was worn on the left breast. The central device is a standard sized Iron Cross with silvered finish and painted centre. This is riveted onto a large gold plated star. Complete with the correct large flat pin. An nice quality example of this extremely impressive and unique award.
