German Federal Republic Iron Cross 2nd class (1957 pattern).

£11.95

German Federal Republic Iron Cross 2nd class (1957 pattern).

The most famous of all WWII German medals and decorations. This version of the 1939 Iron Cross was introduced in 1957 and authorized for wear by recipients of the award from WWII. The WWII award itself could not be worn without contravening the De-Nazification laws introduced after WWII. It is almost identical to the WWII issue piece. The only difference is the substitution of an oak leaf cluster for the swastika.

This example is die struck in one piece. It has a black painted centre and silvered edge. Supplied with a length of the correct ribbon.
