German Federal Republic Armed Forces 18 year long service cross (1957 pattern).
This version of the Long Service cross was introduced in 1957 and authorized for wear by recipients of the award from the Third Reich period. The original award itself could not be worn without contravening the De-Nazification laws introduced after WWII. It is almost identical to the Third Reich issue piece. The only differences are the absence of both the swastika on the obverse and the metal eagle emblem on the ribbon.
This example is die struck with a matt silver finish. Supplied with a length of the correct ribbon.
