The machine gun or 'Queen of the Battlefield' was one of the weapons that defined the battles of the First World War and the formation of the the Machine Gun Corps in October 1915 came about as a result of this new type of warfare.
This Officer quality version of the MGC badge is made from solid bronze with an attractive patinated finish as opposed to the thin stamped enlisted mans version. It is fitted with three flat blade type fasteners and is maker marked.
