An exceptional quality example of this badge which was awarded to crews of merchant ships that attempted to break through the allied blockade of Germany. Die struck in bronze with an attractive gunmetal finish- the eagle being picked out in bright silver. The reverse has the full designer and maker's name in relief and the correct flat pin with extruded hinge. WEIGHT 30 gms.
