This patch references one if the most controversial events of the Vietnam War. Numerous American politicians and celebrity activists had visited Hanoi to express their support for North Vietnam and opposition to the War . But in July 1972 it was outspoken movie star Jane Fonda who was hosted by the Communist leadership. While near Hanoi, she was photographed sitting in the gunner's seat of a Vietnamese AAA battery and wearing a Vietnamese steel helmet.
This patch was created in various forms locally and worn by U.S. troops and veterans in response to these events.This patch is embroidered in multi coloured cotton pale blue cotton drill. It measures 64mm x 82mm in diameter.
