Knights Cross of the War Merit Cross with Swords.

Instituted on the 19th August 1940 and awarded for outstanding military or civilian merit not involving front line combat service. The version with swords was awarded for bravery or merit which involved exposure to physical danger. This example is die struck in one piece and finished in heavy silver plate and has the makers code mark '1' and '900' on both the bottom edge of the cross and suspension loop. Please also note that the suspension loop is the ribbed type used only on the Knights Cross of the War Merit cross WITH swordsComplete with 12"/30cm of neck ribbon. A fine quality piece at an affordable price.
