Wound Badge of the 20th July 1944 in Silver.

Awarded to those wounded as a result of the famous 'Bomb Plot' against Hitler in 1944, when Colonel von Stauffenberg planted a brief case containing a bomb during a meeting held at the 'Wolfs Lair' at Rastenburg in East Prussia. Hitler directed that a special wound badge should be issued to those wounded or killed as a result of the explosion. Only 100 badges were made and a maximum of 47 actually awarded. This badge is complete with the correct original style pin and the reverse is impressed with the makers mark. Silvered finish.

The WWII German military Wehrmacht wound badges offered by the Regalia Specialist are made to the most exacting standards whilst still providing excellent value for money. Where possible original Third Reich period tools and dies obtained from Germany in the 1980's are used and traditional European manufacturing techniques are employed. We believe that that small touches like authentic pin fixings and original style finishes will enhance the enjoyment of these items and these litte extras are offered wherever possible.
