VF-14 'The Top Hatters'

U.S. Navy VF-14 'Top Hatters' cloth embroidered patch.

The Top Hatters were formed in 1949. This patch was worn on the flying jacket or flight suit. Embroidered in cotton on twill.

They are either original issue, new-old stock or made to original specifications using, where appropriate, official American contractors. Most date from the late 1960's Vietnam war period through to the mid 1990's Gulf War period. The squadrons represented gained considerable fame as a result of the 'Top Gun' movie.
