The Bronze Star Medal, unofficially the Bronze Star, is awarded to members of the United States Armed Forces for either heroic achievement, heroic service, meritorious achievement, or meritorious service in a combat zone.
This fantastic WWII example is provided in its 1945 dated unopened box of issue. We have purchased a carton of these medals dating from WWII. Each medal is packed in its own box complete with the manufacturers name and dated 1-29-45. it is believed that these and several other awards were manufactured in anticipation of the invasion of Japan which was expected later in 1945, bit did not occur.#
We have opened one box to check the condition and X rayed the others to check the contents. Each medal has a lovely patintaed bronze finish and is complete with its ribbon and brooch fitting.
