The Purple Heart medal was re-established in 1932 and is awarded to members of the United States Army, Air Force, Marine Corps and Navy who have been wounded or killed in action during WW1, WW2 (WWII), Korea, Vietnam, The Gulf Wars, Afghanistan or other campaigns.
