The 120th AHC was activated in June 1963 from the 57th Transportation Company (helicopters) which arrived in Vietnam in December 1961 as one of the first two helicopter companies in country. The Razorback's were a nocturnal platoon responsible for the 'Firefly' Operations around the perimeter of Saigon. The 120th AHC served primarily as a rapid reaction force in support of the Capital Military Advisory Command (MAC) and units within the area of Saigon including Tan Son, Nhut Airbase and Nha Be. The firefly ships used clusters of high-intensity C-130 Landing Lights that put-out 500,000 Candle-power and could easily illuminate an area of several hundred meters. In addition to their nocturnal firefly missions, the Razorbacks also conduct daylight patrols of Saigon and the surrounding area. The 120th AHC served in Vietnam from 1961 to 1972 and was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation.
