THE 101ST AIRBORNE CONTINUED TO WEAR THEIR COLOUR PATCHES WHILST IN VIETNAM DESPITE LOW VIS SUBDUED VERSIONS BEING AVAILABLE. THE VIET MINH AND VIET CONG CALLED THE 101ST 'THE CHICKEN MEN' AS THEY WERE UNFAMILIAR WITH EAGLES. THE 10ST HAD A FEARSOME REPUTATION AND THE VC WERE INSTRUCTED TO AVOID ENGAGING SOLDIERS WEARING THIS INSIGNIA.
Fully embroidered in colour and finished with the correct merrowed edge. Complete with its separate Airborne tab. This is an original issue patch from a dated 1967 box.
