Imperial German Grand Cross of the Prussian Knights Cross of the House Order of Hohenzollern with swords..
Originally created in 1841 to reward outstanding merit, the version with swords was awarded to military Officers during WWI. It ranked above the Iron Cross and was a pre requisite for the award of the Pour Le Merite. This example of the Grand Cross is quite fabulous. The central device is an oversized example of the badge of the order finished in gilt with white, black, blue and green enamel. This is riveted onto a silver star. A lovely quality replica of this quite beautiful award.
The Imperial German WW1 gallantry decorations and military campaign medals offered by The Regalia Specialist are full size awards being die struck and carefully finished as closely as possible to original specifications.
