This award was originally created in 1841 to reward outstanding merit. This version of the award, called the members eagle, was the lowest class of the award and was granted to enlisted men. The Eagle was also awarded to lesser officials for long service.
This attractive has an antiqued silvered finish with the central shield enameled in black and white. It is supplied with a length of the correct ribbon. It measures 32mm x 32mm excluding the suspension ring.
