Prototype WW2 German Infantry Assault Badge

£17.95

Prototype WW2 German Infantry Assault Badge.

The Infantry Assault Badge was introduced in December 1939. It could be awarded to members of non-motorised Infantry units and units of the German Light Infantry that had participated in infantry assaults, with light infantry weapons, on at least three separate days of battle on the front line. This initial design was not adopted but some prototypes were manufactured. This design incorporates a lightning bolt or "blitz" as well as a German Eagle with outstretched wings rather than the folded wings on the design that was ultimately chosen. This fine quality full size replica of the prototype is die struck in zinc and has the correct German needle pin.

Please note that the 4 photos are of the same badge. The photos on white backing show of the detail better but give a slightly false impression of the colour which is silver zinc.

The WWII German military Wehrmacht combat badges and breast awards offered by the Regalia Specialist are made to the most exacting standards whilst still providing excellent value for money. Where possible European manufacturing techniques are employed. We believe that that small touches like authentic pin fixings and original style finishes will enhance the enjoyment of these items and these litte extras are offered wherever possible.
