Instituted on 15. January 1943 to reward service by LW personel in the Norh African theatre of WW2 of operations. Embroidered in silver/grey thread on blue wool.

Commemorative cuff titles are classified as military awards rather than formation signs. During the Third Reich these cuff titles were either woven, machine embroidered or hand embroidered.
