Westwall or West Wall Medal
German Third Reich Westwall medal (Deutsches Schutzwall Ehrenzeichen medaille).
Instiuted in August 1939 to reward merit in the planning and construction of Germanys defensive fortifications (principally the Siegfried Line). Early quality die struck in solid brass with bronze finish. The ring marked with a makers code number. Supplied with a length of the correct ribbon.
