This spring loaded clip measures 47mm x 27mm at its widest point. It appears to be made out of nickel with a steel spring clip. I

The aperture for the strap measures 20mm. This is the type of clip that was used by the Germans to secure a cross belt to the waist belt.

Some tarnushing that will probably clean off.
