WW2 British Army Whistle Hudson & Co Acme model No 58. RAF or Army issue. Dated 1944.
This is a reproduction WWII 'Number 58' ACME whistle made by J Hudson & Co Birmingham. The whistle is suitably marked up with 'J HUDSON & Co BIRMINGHAM' and the Date 1944.
Used by the Infantry and Artillery units for signalling purposes and also as ditching whistles by RAF aircrew. This is a LARGER TYPE, well built and loud whistle still made with the original cork ball.
This whistle is made by the same company that made the original whistles, in the same factory and using the same equipment. It is approx 50mm long x 23mm wide X 30mm tall and made from Nickel plated brass which has a very slightly distressed finish. It is a traditional and solid made collectors whistle.
