This scarce Schinkel variant of the 1939 Iron Cross 1st Class is an early version of the 1939 Iron Cross similar in shape to the WW1 version. It is of the correct three piece construction with German silver frame and iron centre and has the correct semi flat pin typically found on the Schinkel crosses togther with the distinctive catch. Some tarnishing to the frame that would easily clean off. Blackened magnetic iron centre with little rust. Current stock have a makers code number either stamped just beneath the pin hook
