1939 Knights Cross of The Iron Cross - 3 piece construction.

£79.50

1939 Knights Cross of The Iron Cross - 3 piece construction.

Ranked second only to the Grand Cross of the Iron Cross, the Knights Cross was, in fact, the most covetted of all Third Reich Germany's decorations.

We are delighted to offer, once again, a 3 piece construction example of this award.

This fine quality award is die struck throughout, having a solid iron centre held within a solid nickel 2 piece frame and is suspended from a solid nickel loop

The cross itself measures 48mm across (54mm including integral suspension ring and 72mm including suspension loop). It weighs 31 grams.

The reverse of the cross is stamped 800 as per the original but note the cross is nickel NOT silver. The maker's mark is stamped to the left of the 800 mark.

In order to achieve a truly authentic effect this Knights Cross has very pleasing antique toned silver finish which really brings out the crisp detail of the stamping.

Finally, we are providing this Knights Cross with its correct ribbon with 'tie ons' exactly as it would have been worn. The ribbon has also been aged to match the toned finish of the cross.
