The First Army - America's FIRST, oldest and longest-standing field army - was established in France August 10, 1918, under the command of General John J. "Black Jack" Pershing and organized under the American Expeditionary Forces of World War I.
The First Army was active throughout WW2, Korea and Vietnam.

This genuine full colour patch measures 65 x 84mm .

In times past the U.S. Military specified that all sleeve patches should be made on 'Schiffli' machines. In more recent years the production of these insignias has moved to modern multi head machines.
This patch is an OLD VINTAGE PATCH made some years ago on a 'Schiffli' machine. It's a genuine item - NOT a modern issue patch and NOT an Asian reproduction. Note that it is fully embroidered and is also the exact pattern of patch worn during the Vietnam conflict 50 years ago.
