Spanish Cross in Gold with Diamonds. This version was the highest rank of the Spanish Cross decoration. It was awarded to those who showed great leadership skills in battle or great merits. 28 gold crosses with diamonds were awarded during the Spanish Civil War. Recipients included Willhelm Ritter von Thoma, Werner Molders and Adolf Galland.
The award is the standard design of Spanish Cross with a dull gilt finish and with the addition of 14 small imitation diamonds set around the swastika. The reverse is fitted with the correct flat pin. A very reasonably priced version of this very rare award.
