Awarded to, and worn by, all members of specific units of the United States Armed forces in recognition of heroism. This award was established in 1941 and first bestowed in WW2 (WWII) and subsequently in Korea, Vietnam, The Gulf Wars, Afghanistan and other theatres.

Ribbon complete with gilt metal frame and also brass back plate with clutch fitting.
