German Order Breast Star.

The German Order (Deutscher Orden) was the most important award that the Nazi Party could bestow on an individual for duties of the highest order to the state and party. Adolf Hitler viewed this award as his personal decoration. This award was first made posthumously to Reichsminister Fritz Todt at his funeral in February 1942. A second posthumous award of the German Order was given to SS-Obergruppenführer Reinhard Heydrich later that year. It was unofficially known as the Death Order as it was almost always awarded posthumously. There were in all eleven confirmed recipients of this award.

The example offered is the breast star version of the award. This grade was muted but never actually awarded. The central device is finished in black cold enamel with a facsimile of the Golden Party Badge in the centre. This is riveted onto a large silver plated star. Complete with the correct large flat pin. An extremely attractive example of this much sought after award.
