Autobahn Construction Honour Award Plaque 2000 KM. ORIGINAL QUALITY.
This award was given to persons who were to be honoured for their part in the development of the world's first motorways. It was was presented to those engineers and architects who were most closely associated with the planning and the installation of the Autobahn.
This is the large non portable version of the award, in this instance commemorating completion of 2000kms of road.
It measures 120mm x 100mm and is of multi piece construction, the eagle and winged wheel motifs being riveted to the main body of the plaque.
Beautifully enameled in red and finished in silver plate which has oxidized to give a very pleasing toned effect.
